Fall Foliage

If you are a hiker or outdoor enthusiast of any kind, this week and the following weeks will be some of the most beautiful. Along Minnesota's north shore, fall colors will be starting to show and have already begun in a few places.

One thing to keep in mind is that the colors this year are earlier and will not be as colorful because of the drought Minnesota went through this summer.

If you have never been up to the north shore, I would recommend going during the next couple of weeks as fall colors will be at their peak. You should know that state parks during this time fill up very quickly on the weekends, having parking lots full as early as one hour after opening and remain full until closing. If you can, get there early or go on the weekday when it will be significantly less busy.
