A Classic Vikings Loss

Yesterday’s week one match-up against the Cincinnati Bengals was as classic a Vikings game as you could get for Minnesota fans.

At one point, down 7-21 mid-way through the third quarter, it felt like the game was going to start to get carried away. But, the Vikings were able to fight their way back and, at the end of regulation, causing a tie at 24, forcing the game to go into overtime, there was hope again.

But then, with time running down on the ten-minute overtime, the Cincinnati Bengals kicked a field goal, winning 27-24.

What else can you expect from the Vikings? An early blowout leading to thinking the game was over, then clawing back to tie at the end of regulation, only to lose in overtime. Veteran Viking fans were ready for the emotional rollercoaster that comes with rooting for a team that just keeps finding a way to trip themselves up.
