2021 Scott County Fair

Held every year during the last weekend in July, the Scott County Fair is right around the corner. From Wednesday, July 28th until Sunday, August 1st, this year’s fair is packed full of entertainment. With a motto, “Double the fun in 2021,” the fair has offered fun for anyone. Admission is free for everyone, with only a parking fee asked. $10 for a single day, $25 for a season pass, and motorcycles are $5.

With certain days having themes, you may want to try and plan around them. For example, Thursday is Kids Day, where any vehicle with a 12-year-old or younger will get to park free until 3 p.m. On Thursday, you can catch the Teddy Bear Band perform, a magic show, stunt-juggling, free BINGO, and so much more fun for the kids to enjoy. Friday is Seniors & Veterans, where military vets and seniors 65+ will be able to park for free until 4 p.m. Sunday will be a chance for Military & Frontline personal to park for free until 4 p.m.

The Grandstand is sure to make some noise this year with destruction show, demolition derbies, and much more. Costing just $10 for kids 4 to 12 years old and $15 for the rest, any of the contests will be putting on a worthy show. Wednesday through Saturday will begin at 7 p.m., and Sunday will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday is Night of Destruction, and there will be three different races. First, an endurance race where racers will take to the track one at a time and record the fastest time. The second race is a figure-eight trailer race. A trailer race is where any car or truck can pull any trailer. The last vehicle still attached to their trailer wins the race. The final race of the evening will be a Combine-Derby, with the final moving Combine claiming victory. Thursday, you will have the opportunity to see an amateur tractor pull show. Friday will be National Tractor Pullers Associations (NTPA) turn to show us what the professionals can do. Finally, Saturday will be a classic demolition-derby night, with six different classes facing off. The difference in styles includes things like vehicle size or how old a car is. Other classes will be for vintage cars or “special” vehicles such as an ambulance, hearse, or limousine.

The main stage will be bustling this year, with a line-up full of excellent performers. On Wednesday, Rhino will perform from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. Thursday, the band Mason Dixon Line will be performing from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., then GB Leighton will take to the stage from 8:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. Both Friday and Saturday will have three shows. On Friday, Charlie Sticha Band, Up South, and Tripwire will all have a chance to show off their talents. Those shows will run from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. On Saturday, Stampede will go from 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Red Dirt Road from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and 32 Below from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. On Sunday, Old Country Boys will perform from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., and Mitchell Hall & The Tennessee Trio from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m.
